RECENT “WHAT’S NEXT FOR INDIANAPOLIS STUDY”

MEDIA INVITED TO TOWN MEETING SET FOR JUNE 12^th AT THE CRANE BAY

In response to the recent “What’s Next for Indianapolis Study,” the Stadium Village Business Association (SVBA) is hosting a Summer Social/Town Meeting on Tuesday, June 12, from 4-6PM at The Crane Bay Event Center.

The group plans to hear from the team responsible for the study, including city officials, the mayor’s office, Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf Architects, and Urban Initiatives.

“We are excited to showcase one of our neighborhood’s newest developments while introducing the organization to new member prospects and engaging the group in a proactive strategic plan for the neighborhood,” says Laura Sniadecki, owner of the A.G. Maas Company and membership chairman for the SVBA.

Adds Gary Padjen, founder of the new Crane Bay Event Center, “Much attention has been given to CityWay, but we are now making a concerted effort to bring more awareness of another important revitalization project.”

Padjen, a former Colts player, and Vice President of the NFL Alumni Association believes that The Crane Bay, along with the many other businesses owners that make up what’s now being called The Stadium Village, can contribute in a major way – along with projects like CityWay – to make downtown Indianapolis an even more vibrant destination.

The Crane Bay, located in a 100 year old once long-abandoned factory, just a block from Lucas Oil Stadium, achieved phenomenal local and national attention as the site for Rolling Stone magazine’s Super Bowl parties. Said Rolling Stone magazine publisher Matt Mastrangelo at the time on WISH TV, “We decided to hold our first-ever Super Bowl parties at The Crane Bay as it was this great new venue in the industrial space 30 seconds from Lucas Oil Stadium. Further, we wanted to contribute to the beginning of an exciting revitalization of that area.”

The boundaries of Stadium Village are Washington Street to the north, Raymond Street to the south, White River to the west, and I-65 to the east.

The Stadium Village Business Association (SVBA) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization focused on promoting, preserving, and improving neighborhood business and the Stadium Village/Concord community through providing a forum for business-to-business networking and information exchange, representation to the City of Indianapolis and other organizations as one unified voice on topics such as beautification and development. The organization was established in the late 1990s and has nearly 40 members.
