With the recent closing of the Concord Community Development Corporation, many of you have asked what will happen to the Concord Farm that has so beautifully transformed the property at 2048 S. Meridian Street, not to mention has provided healthy food to the surrounding neighborhood.
The answer is that they are actively seeking a motivated nonprofit to assume ownership (from the City) and establish NSP-compatible programming at the site. Currently, the farm property is home to South Circle Farm, operated by Amy Matthews. LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) tells us that her operation “has a strong social entrepreneurship element, and the scope of her contributions to the Concord Community over the last two years is truly impressive. The opportunity to assume ownership of the property and partner with Amy and South Circle Farm is really unprecedented.”
